Not that I should brag, considering how beat up I am now.

Sunday was the second trooping event I have done. There was a request for stormtroopers to be in a fan film being shot at Fermilab, which is about 40 minutes away from me. The weather was nice, a bit hot, but with strong winds that kept it from being too hot (gusts up to 40MPH!).

I ended up being “stormtrooper #2″. Naturally all us ‘troopers get killed, there being a pesky jedi and some rebel scum involved. Neither one of which kills me, though. I get hit by friendly fire. Sigh. Still, it beats getting shot in the back by rebel scum.

When I got hit I had to fall back on the ground, which isn’t as easy as it sounds, being dressed in full armor. The armor itself held up remarkably well, and all the changes I have made to the strapping have worked wonderfully. The first 3 takes weren’t so bad, but that last take I didn’t land right and gave myself whiplash or something. My neck and back are a wreck. But it was fun and a good time was had by all.

It was doubly cool for me since I have always wanted to see Fermilab. I even saw the buffalo as I drove to the film site!
