I have an old Don Post Darth Vader helmet that had been greatly abused (by myself and my older brother before me). It was pretty beat up and nasty looking, so I decided a while back to clean it up and try and get it looking as good as I could.It was badly scratched and dinged up. I needed to sand it down all over to smoth it out as much as I could then it needed a paint job.Here’s my flickr page with pics of the poor Vader Helmet and the progress on restoring it. I finished the two-tone paint job on the mask, but the gray flaked off in a couple of spots, mostly where it wont show. I will have to touch up the right side of the nose, since that does show. The helmet is drying as I write this.Next, I need to get tusks, lenses, and grills…
